Chartreuse Art Studio is a process-focused art and craft studio offering art and play for preschoolers, classes and private events for kids, and space for adults to gather and create. We encourage artists (of any age) to explore the materials and techniques that are presented, rather than trying to produce the “right” outcome. We want students to create, experiment, and have fun!
We are located in a sunny south-facing room in the charming Glenwood Moravian Community Church, which has served the Dudgeon-Monroe neighborhood for 90 years. Besides the maker-area for messy creations, we have space for parents to relax, chat, and have a cup of coffee.
Lisa Muench has always loved making art, doing craft projects, and being with children. She earned degrees in business and architecture and has worked in real estate in Milwaukee, Chicago, and Madison. In 2011 she became licensed to teach elementary education and English as a second language (ESL). She has been a classroom teacher in Madison, an ESL teacher in Middleton, and a preschool teacher. She especially loves paper crafts and natural materials. Yes, chartreuse is one of her favorite colors.
